A note from Fred

It seems Christie has too little time to blog, so let me take the opportunity.

There have been a few changes around here. Just a few. (Hope you sense my sarcasm). You know why she has no time? Because she spends every second with the little one called Dominic.

A guy lives with his people for 10 years and you expect life to keep on rolling the same everyday, until BAM! One day they bring a little mini human home. Sure they introduced us to him out in the yard to be respectful, blah blah blah. But so what. It's not like they weren't going to take him on in the house whether Iris and I gave our blessing or not.

I feel like I'm stuck in a cliche Disney movie, only Iris is much less romantic than the Tramp. So I'm lacking the whole romantic comedy angle in my version, and what good is that movie without the spaghetti scene under the moonlight? I'll tell you- it's no good for the dog who just had a baby move into his house.

No barking in the house. (Well this was kind of a rule before, but trust me, they are serious about it now!)

You'll have to wait for your dinner. The baby gets fed first- BOO!

No more walks. Stroller + leashes = a headache for everyone. How about subtract the stroller instead of the leashes??

People who come to visit are not here to see you. I feel seriously ignored.

Blankets layed on the floor are not for you. Maybe I would like to lay on a blanket- did anyone think of that?!

New squeaky toys are not for you. Um...?

Stay away from the diaper pail. I swear I'm always in trouble.

And Jesus, be careful when getting a drink. Every time my tags clank against the water bowl I think Christie is going to jump out of her skin. I can't even get a drink in my own house!

And could a guy get some petting once in a while?

I knew something was up when Christie started looking very swollen. Something was not right. Well, we know how that one turned out. I'll know better next time. Learned my lesson.

Yep, babies are no good for the dog.

Though... he did pet me for the first time yesterday. It was pretty sweet actually. And he does smell good. And he's starting to try to talk to me. So maybe I might like him...

No! I'm sticking to my story. A baby is no good for the dog!

(I think...)

SYTYCD, week 3

Ok, so I'm completely late with this post, but my basement flooded on Thursday due to the flash flooding in my neighborhood, so blogging kind of got pushed to the last priority. Also, it's been a full house around here. I'm dog sitting for my parents this week, so the monster dogs are back.

They are not monsters because they are bad- in fact they are the sweetest 100+ pound labs you've ever met. But they are BIG in my little house. We've been having fun. You might remember meeting Boomer last summer. This year, he is joined by Pistol Pete (as in the OSU Cowboy Pistol Pete, to compliment Boomer Sooner of OU, of course! Have I ever mentioned I'm from Oklahoma...?)

Anyway, I mention my house guests because Pete confirmed that Mary Murphy has the most irritating voice on the planet. Yes, I think she is very knowledgeable and probably a great dancer in her time, but wow, her voice grates across me like nothing else. Usually, I am able to fast forward though her part after each dance. Unfortunately, I was watching Wednesday night's show live, so Pete and I had to endure the screaming. I swear to you, every time she spoke (or screeched) Pete would stand up and look around with his ears back and a scared look on his face.
Here he is looking quite calm and collected, but I'd say he did not enjoy the show. Sorry, Pete.

My pick for week three was the quirky Mia Michael's piece danced by Randi and Evan. However, my tardiness in posting this week paid off, because probably my favorite piece would be the Thursday night opening group piece choreographed by Dimitri, Tabitha and Napoleon. I appreciated the little hint of Flashdance-esque flare. Enjoy!
Until next week (or I guess later this week) dance fans...

Things I love about spring

1. Waking up to the chirping birds

2. Lush green grass

Iris loves it too.

3. Wearing my rainboots in the spring rain showers

4. Tulips

5. The climactic conclusion of American Idol

6. The buzzing around a school when there's only 15 days left til summer vacation!

7. Sundresses
I have a problem. I love any and all sundresses. I live in them until fall.

8. The cyclical process of rebirth and awakening

9. Walking the beags without mittens
10. Fresh air in the house through open windows

The thing I hate about spring...

1. The return of Worm Boy, aka Fred, whose favorite thing about spring is finding dead worms within/underneath the grass, digging them up to the surface, and rolling in the stench until a perfect cropcircle has been formed in our lawn. He walks in the house and the smell knocks you over.

The thing that Worm Boy hates about spring... lots of baths.

Fred makes lemonade: an update

No snow. Sunshine. Green grass.

Ahhh, that's more like it!

Fred makes lemonade

Fred had big plans for his spring break. Until it snowed. He pouted for a day or two.

He wouldn't even go outside, until today. The sun is shining, but there is still a lot of snow in the yard, preventing him from sunbathing. Sunbathing is his favorite hobby. He was quite frustrated.

But Fred is a very resourceful beagle. He wasn't going to let a little snow get in the way of his spring break plans.

Can I get you anything Fred? Some lemonade perhaps?

Merry Xmas from Louie

Hi readers. Christina is in full holiday mode, and so I'm guest blogging for her this week. I'm Louie.

How's everyone doing? Personally, I'm exhausted! Between the parties, and shopping, and traveling the holidays can be rough, huh? Christmas came just in time because I was down to the bottom of the drawer on the holiday outfits! Whew! But this outfit is very fetching, don't you think? I like it. Except for the jingle bells. They can be a bit annoying. Jingle. JinGle. JiNGlE. Ugh! Sometimes I can't take it. Don't mind the few chewed, I mean non-jingly ones. They had it coming.

Anyway, my job was to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. We hope it was a time of family, sugar, excess, and all the best stuff. Oh and joy, love, and peace, yeah, that's good too. But no jingle bells.

Happy, happy Xmas to all!

Life's tough lessons

It happens to the best of us.

Sometimes we let excitement get the best of us, and we act without thinking. We throw caution to the wind. We leap before we look. We dig a mud hole, and stick our entire face in it.

And once the excitement is over, we realize that we didn't think that through very well. We didn't think about the consequence of our decision. We didn't realize we would really want to go back in the house once we were totally covered in mud.
I don't think so Big Man.

Total bummer, I know. Live and learn Freddy. Live and learn.

Home sick

I'm dog sitting for my parents right now. Here's how our days usually go:

CC: Hey, Boomer. How's it goin'?

Boomer: Good, thanks. Um, when are my parents coming back?

CC: A couple more days, don't worry.

Boomer: Ok, thanks. Can I have a chewy?

CC: Not right now, you just had one. Why don't you go out to play?

Boomer: Yea, ok... Um, when are my parents coming back?

CC: Aww, I'm sorry Boom, are you not having fun here?

Boomer: No, no, I'm having a blast! You guys are great. You're really good at the petting and all that. A little stingy on the chewies, and you're a little lame about me sitting on your lap... but you know... um, I just really like my parents. Are they coming today?

Iris: Yea Mom, when is he leaving?
CC: Oh, Iris, be nice!
Iris: Mpf...

Fred: Whatever. Could you guys keep it down? And forget about asking me to share my blanket.

Boomer: Hey, um... hi, are my parents coming soon?
